Byddwch yn rhan o ddyfodol Llanrwst.
There is a open invitation for all to a public meeting to discuss the rumours that a Tesco Supermarket will be built in Llanrwst. Eagles Hotel 15th of February 2012 at 1830.
Come and listen to local politicians and to give your views.
‘Llanrwst has a strong identity as a thriving market town with firm community values' [Llanrwst Vision] so we should build on that, not welcome a large retail giant that will take away the ‘market town’ identity. Community values include supporting local producers. A large retail store will not support local produce; it will dictate prices and drive the small traders out of business. This will have an effect on local producers who supply local shops. Large retail stores monopolise by charging low prices at first in order to get local shops out of business then they can charge what they want. When they have got rid of the competition they can then pay what they want to the local producers. FARMERS BEWARE!
ReplyDeleteLarge retail stores do not move into an area for the good of the local economy, they do it for a profit for their shareholders. For every £1 spent in these stores 90p goes out of the local economy. Every £1 spent in a local store stays in the local economy and is circulated a number of times. This affects the whole of the rural economy, not just Llanrwst.
